CLASSIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
ACTIVE PHOTOGRAPHER -
Full time Professional Photographer with a minimum of
two (2) years working experience as a full time photographer or have
been employed for one (1) year preceding application and have
satisfactorily earned a college, university, or school of photography
semester credit hours or equivalent. Applicant must be available for
client assignment during a normal week. Required print submission shall
be reviewed by the Board of Directors. Active Photographer status
entitles member to full voting, chair positions, and Board of Director
positions. Also included are the unrestricted use of the PPGH logo,
member discounts, and participation in the Fellowship program.
Copy of current PPA membership card
A check for Application Fee of $25.00 and first
year current Membership Dues ($75.00).
Six (6) 8x10 prints representative of your style
of work, unmounted & unframed (exempt if a CPP).
Copy of recorded DBA form, state sales tax use
permit, or incorporation charter letter.
ACTIVE VIDEOGRAPHER -
Full time professional videographer with a minimum of
two (2) years of working experience as a full time videographer.
Required video submission shall be reviewed by a video panel selected by
the Board of Directors. Active Videographer status entitles member to
full voting, chair positions, and Board of Director positions. Also
included are the unrestricted use of the PPGH logo, member discounts,
and participation in the Fellowship Program.
Copy of current PPA membership card
A check for Application Fee of $25.00 and first
year current Membership Dues ($75.00).
A minimum 10 minute sample video representative of
your work.
Copy of recorded DBA form, state sales tax use
permit, or incorporation charter letter.
ACTIVE STUDIO OWNER/PARTNER -
Owner or partner of an active member. Minimum of two
(2) years of working experience as a full-time studio owner or have
earned 60 college, university or business school credit hours or
equivalent. Membership is subject to discretion of the Board of
Directors. Classification includes all voting privileges, can hold any
chair position, but cannot hold a Board of Directors position. Members
in this classification can participate in the Fellowship program but
cannot receive full fellowship unless print requirements are met. Also
included are all general membership privileges.
A check for Application Fee of $25.00 and first
year current Membership Dues ($75.00).
Name of Active member and studio name.
ACTIVE ARTIST -
Full time professional artist with a minimum of two
(2) years of working experience as a full time artist. Required print
submission with artwork shall be reviewed by an artist panel as selected
by the Board of Directors. Active artist status entitles member to full
voting, chair positions and Board of Director positions. Also included
are the unrestricted use of the PPGH logo, member discounts and
participation in the Fellowship program.
Copy of current PPA membership card
A check for Application Fee of $25.00 and first
year current Membership Dues ($75.00).
Six (6) 8x10 retouched prints representative of
your work, unmounted & unframed. (Presented in a photo folio is
recommended)
Copy of recorded DBA form, state sales tax use
permit, or incorporation charter letter.
ASPIRING -
For an individual preparing a career in photography,
or a new "entry level" professional (photographer, artist, or
videographer). Aspiring members do not have voting privileges, may not
hold office nor use the PPGH logo in any form, participate in the
fellowship program or display prints in the "Pro Houston" photographic
display or Web display. Membership in this classification does include
member discounts.
Copy of current PPA membership card (first year
not required).
A check for Application Fee of $25.00 and first
year current Membership Dues ($60.00).
Subsequent annual dues will be at current Active
Membership Dues ($75.00).
Copy of recorded DBA form, state sales tax use
permit, or incorporation charter letter.
Limited to two (2) consecutive years membership.
SERVICE -
A company who supplies services or products for the
photographic industry. Service members have unrestricted use of the PPGH
logo but do not have voting privileges and may not hold office.
Membership in this classification do include member discounts.
Copy of current PPA membership card not required.
A check for application Fee of $25.00 and first
year current Membership Dues ($75.00).
Copy of recorded DBA form, state sales tax use
permit, or incorporation charter letter.
STAFF -
Open to all members of a studio's firm (photographic
or non-photographic). Name of Active member is required. Must be listed
under Active member or Studio Owner. This membership is subject to the
discretion of the Board of Directors. Associate members do not have
voting privileges, may not hold office or chair position, does not
qualify for the PPGH "Pro Houston" photographic display or web display,
nor personally use the PPGH logo in any form. Classification includes
member discounts.
A check for application fee of $25.00.
Check for first years Membership dues of $60.00.
STUDENT -
Must be a current active student at a school, college
or university. This membership is subject to the discretion of the Board
of Directors. Student members do not have voting privileges, may not
hold office nor use the PPGH logo in any form, and have the same
restrictions as Staff classification.
Copy of valid current student photo ID card.
Check for annual application fee of $25.00
NOTE - Members of each of the above
classifications may attend PPGH functions, such as seminars, meetings,
etc, for member discount fees. Anyone applying for membership or any
current member is subject to the "Code
of Business Ethics" which is part of the PPGH By-Laws,
and will be strictly enforced by the "Board of
Directors".
Anyone not in compliance may be placed on probation or
have their membership revoked without refund or reimbursement. |
