by Barbara Breitsameter

Whether photographing outdoors, indoors or in the studio there are numerous possibilities to create extraordinary images celebrating dogs and the people they love.  Learn how to create compelling dog portraits.  Barbara will demonstrate how she looks for quality of light, composing images, paying close attention to textures, architectural details and patterns.  Working with dogs can have its challenges. Barbara will share her “how-to” for a successful, rewarding dog session to expand your ability to create images that your clients will love and increase your sales.

Let’s break those barriers that are holding you back.  Barbara’s optimism as a working pet photographer and businesswoman living with Stage III Parkinson’s disease will no doubt inspire you.  She motivates all to not let obstacles stand in your way.  It’s time to open that door to create a positive attitude and explore your artistic vision.

Creating artistic dog portraits is the heart and soul of my business.  So WHY dog photography???  It’s simple undefined choosing what I love to do has been one key to happiness and success.

Poppy blue Photography

For the past decade Barbara has worked as a professional photographer.  Barbara had a storefront retail studio for many years, photographing families, children, corporate and dogs.  Presently she is working out of her home studio, which has allowed Barbara to focus only on dog photography and teaching.

Barbara is a national speaker and a co-instructor for Paw Print Divas Workshops.  In January 2011, Barbara co-instructed a pre-con seminar at 2010 PPA Imaging USA, national convention on pet photography.  Having taught several pet photography workshops, Barbara is dedicated and experienced instructing students on the creative process and building a successful pet photography business.

The Black Labrador

http://www.blacklabradorpub.com

The Black Labrador opened in 1986 in a building formerly used by a church for its officers. It has 100 seats inside, 50 outside and 20 around the bar. The low ceilings and decorations gives the restaurant an authentic pub atmosphere unlike any in Houston. The menu is varied with great hamburgers, soups and salads but it is the English specials like Shepherd’s Pie, Fish and Chips and Raspberry Trifle that bring customers back time and again. The Black Labrador is open 7 days a week for lunch and dinner and serves brunch on Sundays starting at 11 am.
